I am still reading the book Push by Sapphire and this book has stirred up so many different emotions. While reading this book it seems like at one point im laughing and the next point im almost in tears. I am almost in tears because of the abuse she goes through throughout the book. Some people that read this book can’t even finish the whole thing. Some of the things that she goes through, if that was me I couldn’t have handled it. That’s why in my last blog I said that she was worthy of praise. When she said that she had two children by her father I just couldn’t understand how a father could do something like that to their daughter. I was also thinking like how can a father even be attracted to his daughter. This book has so many surprising events. The verbal and physical abuse that her mom puts her through is unbelievable. I didn’t know that one person can give that much abuse. She gives so much abuse in one day. I don’t understand how Precious can even live in a house that has that much abuse. Abuse is something nobody should go through, no matter what age. You shouldn’t have to take any verbal or physical abuse from anybody no matter who they are. I just feel that her mother and father is supposed to be there for her no matter what. She is getting more abuses at home than she is in school. But like I said before this book had stirred up so many emotions and it’s going to stir up more since I haven’t finish the book yet.

Guided Response!!!!
I am currently reading the book Push by Sapphire. This book is really forward and straight to the point. This book tells is like it is and the way it happened. I feel that the author should be worthy of praise because she is going through a lot from what I have read. I havent even gotten through the whole book yet and she is already going through a lot. It seems to me like she has nobody on her side she is a ll alone. Nobody seems like they really care about her and at this point in the book it seem like its getting harder and harder to read. All of the abuse that her mother is putting her through. And her father…. I really have no comment about him because to me he’s just another male that doesn’t need to be a father. I don’t know how a father could do that to his daughter. I don’t understand how a father could look at their child in any kind of sexual way. The main character of the book Claireece Precious Jones, is already a mother to 2 kids and the babies father is her dad. One of her kids has down syndrome. I don’t know how she could handle all of that and worry about her mother treating her like she’s nothing. That’s why I think that the main character which is Precious, is worthy of praise because she is already going through a lot and im not even through half od the book.

The book that I am reading is The Blind Side. And since I have been reading it, I really haven’t got into it like I thought I was. I thought that since the movie really caught my eye from the beginning that the book would be the same way. But come to find out that I’m not as interested like I thought that I would be. I have seen a little difference in the book than the movie but to me nothing really major. The name of the school in the book was different from the movie. I really don’t have much to say about this book because I’m kind of getting uninterested in the book as I read it. I think that if I keep reading it might get better but I really can’t say. If the book doesn’t get interesting really fast I think I might end up changing the book. I really don’t want to change the book because I want to finish what I started. But at the same time I want to read a book that’s going to make me want to keep picking it up every day and read it, it seems like this book is not doing that.

I think that the character in the book The Blind Side is worthy of praise. I think that because of all he has been through in his life. He had to go through his childhood with a mother that was addicted to crack. He really didn’t have a steady place to stay he was always on the move. He didn’t know anything about himself such as his name, father, or his birthday. He doesn’t even know how to read or write. He doesn’t know anything about himself. When he finally gets someone to actually look over him he has some courage now. He moves in with a family that’s not even his race and becomes part of their family. He grows to be a big star football player and also grows to know himself. I believe he is worthy of criticism becase he grows to be something and he is a person that came from nothing.

I am currently about to start reading the book The Blind Side by Michael Lewis. I can’t wait to read this book. Since I have seen the movie I can’t wait to see the difference between them. I hope the book is way more detail than the movie. The movie is one of my favorite movies. This book is mainly about a boy named Michael Oher who is one of thirteen children by a mother who was addicted to crack. Michael has no clue of who he is. But a family by the name of the Tuohy’s took him in as their own and raised him. He became a big football player after getting himself together while he was living with the Tuohy family. This book to me is going to be really interesting because in some cases a lot of athletes these days are raised up like this. The come from nothing and all of a sudden becomes something. I think that things like a bad past can influence you to want to do better in life. It makes you want to prove to the people that told you that you couldn’t be anything that you can actually become something in life. It makes some kids or children wonder can I actually become something in life since he did. Some athletes that were raised like that has become something are role models in some people life because if they did it it’s not any reason why anybody else can’t.

I seem not to do the same thing with in- school and out-school reading. I tend to read my out-school reading quicker. With the in-school reading I sometimes feel it’s not that interesting. I feel that if I get to pick my own reading I would actually do the reading or if the teacher actually picked something that could keep my attention I would read it. It’s kind of hard for me to stay focused on books that can’t keep my interest and that’s why I never get it done. Reading can sometimes be fun for me but most of the time in-school reading is not. I feel that they both are different because at times one is interesting and one is not. If I don’t want to read I have to force myself to. In-school and out-of school it’s also a different environment. I feel like I am better reading when I’m at home sometimes but other times I feel that if I read at home I would get to comfortable and fall asleep. When you are doing in-school reading I am trying to race with everybody so that I won’t be the last one done. I really don’t feel that it’s good to race with other people because I probably won’t comprehend what I am reading. So sometimes I do need to read by myself so I can get a better understanding of what I am reading. I need to read at a not slow but medium pace so I can get the feel for the book.

Is the author worthy of praise or criticism? At this point, I think that she is worthy of criticism because she lies so much. But then again she could be worthy of praise because she is getting away with all the lies that she is telling. I know you might be thinking why should I praise someone like that lies but I’m praising the fact that she is actually getting away with the stuff. If I had to describe to describe Micah, I think that she is just a compulsive liar. She strays away from the truth. To me I think she is scared to tell the truth because she is scared of what people might think or feel about her. I feel that no matter what you should tell the truth. I think that the truth helps when it comes to some situations but it sometimes don’t. I think that she just needs to start telling the truth and she would be a better person and people would start believing her. I’m not saying that people don’t believe her, but the people that know her already know how she is. For example, the part where she said that she mad out with Zach’s girlfriend and best friend. To me I think that she was lying because how she was telling the story just didn’t seem like that would happen. But when I first read it I was amazed at it because that was kind of a good how she told that individual story about them 3. But my view of the author might change in the future but right now my answer is the same.

The incident that I remember from past reading is when I read the book Push. Push is a book based of off the movie Precious. The movie Precious is a hard movie to get though just like the book is. The book to me is kind of harder to get though than the movie. I say that because when u watch the movie even though your physically seeing it, when u read the book to me it’s more detailed and it’s in your mind mentally. The one incident I remember was when her mom was fighting with her and was throwing things at her while she had her baby in her arms. To me that was kind of unnecessary because she could’ve hurt the child. Another incident was when she had another child by her father. I don’t know how any father could look at their child that kind of way. That I think is what really made her mom not like her. Throughout the book everybody picked on her no matter where she was. If I was in her shoes I wouldn’t know what to do. I would just want to be by myself or find somebody that actually cared about me. One more incident that I remember was when she went to an alternative school. Going to a new school is challenging for everybody. But all along I think that’s where she needed to be in the first place because everybody accepted her. The teacher even recognized her while she was there. I think that everybody should read the book because even though it’s a rough book it makes u think and know that it’s always somebody out there that’s worse off than you.

My Blog!!!!
The book that’s I am currently reading is Skyscraper by Zane. This book is an urban book. The book is about the main character, which is this man named Chico, telling a story in one week. And this week is one of the most unforgettable because it’s leading up to Wolfe industries, where he works, annual Christmas party. Now jobs usually hands out checks but this year there handing out a lot of drama. These four people that barely knew each other started to cross the same paths in a disturbing way. Will I recommend this book? Yes, in a way I would recommend this book only if the person likes reading these kinds of books. A lot of people I know don’t like reading urban books because they’re not for them. But if people like these kinds of books I would recommend them because it’s kind of like a story of mystery. It’s one of those books that you can’t wait to get to the end of it so you can see what’s going to happen. I really like stories like this because it really keeps me interested and focus because not a lot of books can keep my interest. These books have some of the language that we speak today and some of the actions that happens in the world today. I wouldn’t have changed or written the book any differently from what I have read so far. In my opinion I believe that this book would keep anybody’s interest.

Free Respose!!
When I read, I usually try to read in a quiet place. But when I do read I end up reading in a place that’s too quiet and I end up falling asleep. So, if I read some place quiet it would have to be in like a library where its people around me because if I’m at home I will fall asleep. So my typical reading environment would have to be some place not too noisy but not too quiet. So I have to read with some music or some mini conversations going on in the same room I’m in. When it comes to reading, I read at a steady pace. I read like that so I will comprehend what the book main points are. I am also the type of reader that has to read at my own speed/pace. For example, when a teacher gives me and expects me to read 5 chapters to read in a day or two. Even though it usually takes me about a week or a week in a half to read a book, that’s if the book is not interesting, I need to read it at my own pace. Some books that teachers assign make me really bored to the point where I don’t want to read another book they assign. The kind of books that keeps me interested is urban books. I think they keep me interested because they are books that speak the language that we speak today and they have some stories that people are dealing with today.
